Milford or Doubtful Sound?

Voted the most popular destination world wide. We can point out the differences. Doubtful can be seen as a day trip. However we feel the Overnight Cruise is the way to take it all in. Milford Sound can be seen in a half day trip, you would need to fly at least one way to do this. We can advise you on the transport options, as there are many.

Milford Sound

Queenstown Scenic Flights

Breath taking flights over snowy mountains, rivers, waterfalls, glaciers and Fiords. Often said to be the highlight of the holiday by guests. Trelawn has a Heli pad for those requiring it. Scenic flights to Milford by helicopter are possible from Trelawn.

Kiwi Birdlife Park – Family Fun

Allow 2 – 2.5 hours, we consider this as a must see activity. Ideally arrive a hour before the show times. The entry fee includes a 40 minute Te Maori cultural show. Skyline Gondola take the ride up to the skyline restaurant and take in the breath taking view. You have the opportunity up there, to view the other Maori cultural Kiwi Haka Show and to experience the Skyline Luge. Lots of fun for the family.

Skiing

From July to early October, there are several ski fields nearby. For more information, see Powderhounds reviews of skiing in Queenstown as well as heli skiing options in the area.

Coronet Peak Skifield

Skippers Canyon

Exciting excursion by four wheel drive into the remote and dramatic upper reaches of the Shotover river, and the ghost town of ‘Skippers’. Bungy jumping and white-water rafting has laterly made the Shotover river famous again.
